I did take it back and the shop is saying they have no idea what made it pop out .. they are going to put in a new axle but are saying they did not make a mistake that it is my van's fault and they are being very rude and we paid $1600 to have it fixed.
They are trying to say soemthing else is wrong with my van and I am going to have to pay more money. I don't know what to do.

it popped out because either A) they forgot to reinstall the c-clip on the inside end of the axle. or B) the c-clip snapped from a smack to the side of the axle.

if the c-clip is broke, i would call it a coincidence, but having the broken pieces in there would chew up the gears as well.
but if its missing totally, then its their negligence from not reinstalling it.

These jokers are trying to cover there ***. I have been fixing cars for over 30 years and I say take it someplace else and then sue these guys.
It is there fault it was not installed right and now there saying it is gonna cost you more. Why? See that way thy can charge you for the new axle.
Did thy not guarantee there work???
Call the better business and report these fools. Get the car back and take to a lawyer.
See how fast these jerks fix your car after you call a lawyer.
