Only if they opt to have their paycheck spread out over the entire year. The smart ones do that so they can pay their bills in July and August. Or else they save up for the summer and/or work at another job during those months.

if they teach summer school courses, or have set up with their district payroll to reduce their checks during the 9 months they are teaching and pay the difference during the summer. mostly they live on a stricter budget or get summer positions.
