what is ECW?

A wrestling brand. Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) is a a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) brand, based on the former stand alone wrestling promotion. The brand debuted on June 13, 2006 with a weekly television series.

This series can be seen on the Sci Fi Channel in the United States, Sky Sports 3 in the United Kingdom, FX in Latin America , Ten Sports in India and SKY 1 in New Zealand. Global will broadcast ECW in Canada as of August 11, 2006. FOX 8, Australia's carrier of RAW, SmackDown!, and HEAT, will begin to air ECW starting September.

ECW stands for Extreme Championship Wrestling Some of the WWF and WCW wreslters went to that alliance. Paul Heyman that used to announce on WWF is in charge of ECW.

Think of it as WWE if ECW had lots of money. ECW is much better in my opinion. More brutal, better wrestlers, better match types.

Extreme Championship Wrestling, bought out by Vince Mcmahon and ressurected as a crappy show on Sci fi.. Sad top say it may be the best WWE show right now.
