Most of you folks feed on info only from international media. Unfortunately the media (any media even local) is unballanced and usually the editors dictate left-liberal approach. This approach is positive for itself but is totaly inpractical for the middle-east. You have the understand the mentality of the arabs and the history of the region before taking any serious stand. The history is to long to discuss but here are some points for thought:
- Israel has redrawn from any lebanese terra according to UN resolution 1559 and remained within international accepted border line.
- According to the same Un resolution Lebanon is committed to disarm the hizbula which is an extreme terror organization. Instead it did not comply and allowed hizbula to gain more and more weapon, delivered from Iran through Syria, and to establish countless posts straight on the israeli border.
- Since israel redrawl in 2000, hizbula kidnapped and murdered 3 Israeli soldiers and fired hundreds of rockets aimed at Israeli civilian cities. Lebanon and Syria did nothing to stop that and even encouraged it.
- 2 weeks ago hizbula shot hundreds of rockets on Israeli settelments, crossed the international border, killed two Miluim soldiers and kidnapped two others. This operation was unilatteral without any preceding action by Israel. What would you think if your neighboring country did that to you ?
- It is true Israel is stronger but in no way it is the agressor. It is always easy to blame the strong one and present it as a nation which seek to kill innnocent civilians. In fact if this was true couldn't Israel with it's mighty army kill hundreds or thousands of people everyday? this is certainly not the case.
-Israel has the highest value for life in this area. This is why they warn people to leave before they shoot. This is why they don't send people to bomb themselvs within crowd of civilians like palestinians do. This is why they don't fire blindly rockets towards innocent population like hizbula and hamas does. This is why they were willing to release thousands of palestinian prisoners to get only the bodies of 3 kidnapped murdred soldiers.
- The only ones who don't care about the lives of their own people are terrorists such as hamas and hizbula. They don't hesitate to fire from crowded cities or from mosques. They don't hesitate to hide beyond innocent people so the Israeli can not fire at them. They have no problen to use ambulances to carry weapons. Did you know hizbula prevented from people in south Lebanon to evecuate?
Sorry for being so long but I have much more to say. Try to keep an open mind and get your own opinion. Don't get swamped by palestinian and Lebanese propoganda. They are excellent in that field tough many of their stories are presented just for the camera(Who do you think operate these cameras - its the same people). Stay with the true facts. Israel is surrounded by arab nations which most of them don't acknowledge it's right to exist, therefore it is fighting for it's independence. unfortunately war has it's rules and prices for both sides.
Lebanese government should take responsibility for the cancer within it.

the world is watching too long, putting the hands down, and not doing anything. it is all not a game... and it will come to our house...
i hate it to know what is happening there... i feel guilty that i can not help those innocent people. and i feel guilty that i can't stop it.
Right now we all are hanging on a hair-thin thread. It's just tactic right now, Iran, not Lebanon, will be the last part of a puzzle... When Iran is involved, Russian Federation will have to protect it's interests, and there shouldn't be any doubt about the power of Russia... How many countries will join them is not clear...but there will be many! It will be in their interests to keep Iran the way it is, and to keep balance between the powers.
And it will be our all end...

I think that most people do not realise that there are jews in lebanon,, as well as christians and muslims and druz, they are all part of lebanon and they are getting killed everyday since more than a week, which make this a crime to humanity.
and defending a country is when its gets hit first, not to be the first to hit (and to hit civilians).

Wow. Hooked on phonics, gg? I do agree with you though. I just don't want to look bad because of you. Could you try to sound more intelligent please? And has anyone checked the stat on Christians in Lebanon? It sounds like bullshit. I suppose his entire argument is as well. Well, it's not a majority, but 39% of Lebanese are Christian and 59% are Muslim.

3apa... What are you trying to say? Where is the bullshit?

Israel has every right to defend herself... if the Lebanese government can't stop the Hezbollah, then Israel will!

Stop Syria and Iran from helping Hezbollah!

Israel always likes to use defense as an excuse whenever they made an offensive on sumbody. they can call it a "counterattack" when they themselves initiate the whole thing.
