everyone is different with regards to how much pain they feel. what i *will* tell you is that if you're stressed or expect it to hurt - it will.

simply relax and don't worry about it, and it won't be a problem.

if you're still worried, as a last resort you could numb your earlobes prior to going, in the UK you can buy creams such as emla, or sprays such as xylocaine which numb areas of your body about 15 minutes prior to the piercing.

Yes it does hurt but it isn't an overwhelming kind of pain. I remember getting it done when I was 11 and the pain was more of a really really warm feeling. It didn't last very long either. Just make sure you turn them twice a day and squirt some disinfectant on them twice a day too and they'll heal up great with very little pain. I was a pain wimp at the time too--my mother practically had to drag me in to get them done. So it's amazing that even with that much fear it didn't hurt too bad.

I got my ears peirced when I was really young. It hurts like a few minutes. Like 5-10 minutes or something like that. Keep earings in your ear a lot of the time or else the hole will close and you can't put the earing in.

It does hurt. It feels like somebody taking a sharp needle and stabbing it through the flesh of your ear in order to create a permanent hole. After that, it continues to hurt for a couple days, and then after that, if it gets infected, it turns red, swells, oozes, and hurts. If you clean it regularly and follow all the advice it hurts less, but you tend to get them caught on things until the holes in your head have healed. After six weeks, the holes in your head will be permanent and should no longer hurt.

Yes it hurts. It doesn't last long though. The place that hurts the worse is your upper ear. That one was really bad and it stayed infected so I had to take it out. Waste of time and money. You will be glad you did when it is all over. Good luck.

The last time I got my ears pierced, it hurt for only the amount of time that it took for the gun to pierce them. I took care of them really well after that to prevent a painful infection. I wore my studs for several months just to make sure that there were no problems.

If you are afraid of pain, stay away from cartilage piercing (the part at the top of your ear). Those are painful for weeks.

no it wont hurt. it will be fine. but if you are getting them peirced in the cartlage on top then it will hurt a lot more then the bottom, where most people have their ears peirced.

if you have it done by an professional and they use a piercing 'gun' its quick, still painful but its quick. mainly its the clicking of the gun that makes people flinch. after both lobes are done it is still tender and does hurt, make sure you follow the instruction for care and cleaning as you don't want it to get infected which can be very painful....good luck
