P.S. I had to check back in to see the answers and I would be remiss if I did not point out that Bon Jovi, Warrent, Whitesnake, etc.. are NOT heavy metal bands!!! They are Poser hair bands - good music in their own way but NOT heavy metal!

this is a hard question because there were so many great bands. I love motley crue, iron maiden, gnr, ratt, and quiet riot, but i would have to say motley crue and def leppard are my favorite metal bands from the 80s, probably favorite song is girls girls girls just because it is very risque for the times and highly amusing to listen to.
