It is bound to be religion based, nearly all wars are.
It is not right to kill anyone.

they both are. Lebanon (or at least some of the Lebanese) support Hezbollah and technically they started the current trouble by kidnapping the 2 Israeli soldiers. however look at Israels response getting on for half a million fleeing their homes 400 killed and the roads Lebanon built at huge expense destroyed because Hezbollah might use them to move around (at least that is the only justification i can see for it). yes Hezbollah has fired rockets into Israel but if your country was under the sort of attack Lebanon has been in the last few weeks don't you think you would want some revenge. look at how the west responded to the terror attacks (which i in no way support before i am accused of such a thing) the only difference is that we had more than a few rockets.

anyway you wanted an unbiased answer and I'm afraid you wont get one anywhere. i find it hard to back up Israel although i feel initially they were right to try and do something but the initial goal seems to have been lost in some sort of revenge against Lebanon. for all this destruction i see no hope of these 2 troops being brought home safely.

basically as far as i can tell Hezbolah started it but Israels response has been disproportionate and they are breeding many many future troubles for themselves

If Israel and USA did not plot for the break up of the Levant (Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan and part of Turkey), we are talking about a country and region well poppulated continuously since the Mesopotamia (we are talking about thousands upon thousands of years of inhabitation, living SIDE by SIDE with Jews and Muslims and Catholics without war of any sort. They had plumbing, medicine and other knowledge way before the west, and never needed SAVING from their miserable tribal ways because they were never miserable or tribal. The Golan Hts belongs to Syria as was agreed by the UN law, so dont give anyone more misinformation then they really need. The Lebanese are innocent, they did not start the war. They did not invade ANY country for any reason. Their country was torn apart by YOU KNOW WHO from the first invasion. When you destroy a countries infrastructure and law you leave it under civil unrest. Now that it was regaining its self, YOU KNOW WHO has attacked it again. Why cant a group of people who's parents children and relatives who have been killed by YOU KNOW WHO, take up arms and protect their country, loved ones and homes by creating Hamas, and what ever else there is there, which by the UN law, is a legal entity and are legally freedom fighters against the invading countries. Research history, research the news, research what is happening now before you pass on more garbage to brainwash the herd out there who have no knowledge of anything other than what people like you tell them. At that time there will be a start to the peace process and perhaps in a decade or so, this trinkling of truths will leak to your dishonest governments and once again people can live in the region side by side in peace as brothers.

This war is blanketed by 'religious fundamentalism' but in fact it is just MURDER and crimes against humanity. When war will hit you, what will you do when you see your loved ones die around you, when you see your house blow up with all your possessions? You wouldnt care what religion they were, even if they were your own. Im sure you will want to give it back to those who did it! Its as simple as that.
Jews, Musllims and Catholics have always lived in harmony. Its only political greed which has divided them all around the world. THINK.

Lebanon allowed Hezbollah to operate as an armed group within its territory. Hezbollah started the conflict (a fact agreed upon by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Arab League, and many others) by crossing into Israel, killing some people, and kidnapping others. Under international law, Lebanon is to blame for permitting this act of war to be committed from its territory; however, the Lebanese government is very weak, so it is not actually being blamed by most sides of any active involvement in the attacks. In fact, Israel has recognized this fact and avoided unnecessary attacks against Lebanon's government, instead targeting just Hezbollah and the roads, buildings, etc., that are used by Hezbollah.

While Israel's actions are not intended to kill civilians but sometimes do anyway, Hezbollah just fires its rockets randomly into cities with the express hope of killing civilians, which it often does and proudly announces as part of its strategy. Legally, Israel has a duty to minimize the harm it does to Lebanon's civilians; the blame for the current crisis, though, lies clearly with Lebanon and its tolerance of Hezbollah terrorists operating on its soil.

Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers, that was what sparked off the conflict. Unfortunately for the Lebanese, Hezbollah live in the south of their country which is why Israel took the fight to Lebanon.

Of course it is not right to kill so many civilians. They are innocent victims in this war. The longer this goes on, the more I question the values of the Americans that are permitting it.

I suspect that Israel would never have dared to act like this if it was not for its relationship with America. I am also mindful that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

The thing that amazes me is that if the UK had gone in with all guns blasting when we were fighting the IRA (another terrorist organisation) the world would have been quick to condemn and even quicker to stop it. More particularly, the Americans would have intervened very quickly.

I got a violation for asking this type of question! Even though the intention was Peaceful... someone didn't read correctly!

Basically... Hezbollah are a Terrorist organisation... they hide between the normal civilians...

Israel are not intentionally targeting civvies, but what can they do... Hezbollah will continue to fire rockets over some stupid land dispute... so Israel cannot keep taking missiles and suicide bombers! they have to take this stance... Hezbollah should have been disarmed by Lebanon, the deadline for this was set by the U.N. it did not happen... Hezbollah, so called Freedom fighters, do not have military insignia, they hide in houses and mosques, they will not come out onto an open battlefield!

It's the people that are caught up in this, that i feel deeply for!

Terrorists should be rooted out for the sake of everybodies freedom... be you Muslim, Islam, jewish, Christian, White, Black, green or purple! You cannot tell me living in an oppressed society is freedom!

Where ever you are in the World... Please take the time too consider rooting out terrorists, and telling the authorities, be it by phone, letter, internet or walking into your local embassy... you owe it to yourselves, your children, and the survival of your Planet!

If this can be achieved, the terrorist will soon realise they are not safe anywhere... as too many eyes will be watching them...

This will end many wars hopefully!

US Normal People... We can play a massive part in making our World a safer place too share!

Peace People... Peace!

I see -
It's to bad you yourself preach but don't implement it.
You try to present a dichotomic picture in which only one side is paying a heavy price. You chose to ignore the fact that hundreds of Israeli innocents are killed every year by suicide bombers. How would you or anybody else feel if you knew you might be blown every minute at the bus or the mall? What will you say if your town was suffering from a daily missile attack like people in some Israeli cities?
Do not try to throw sand in our eyes.
It is the arabs which refuse to acknowledge Israel.
It is the palestinians which refuse any territorial compromise offered to them (even before Israel existed during british occupation) at least 6 times during the last 70 years. If only they would change their principle of "all or nothing" we might get some progress here.
Finally - don't try to claim this region belongs only to arabs. The jews were always here throughout history since 2000 years ago.

Hezbollah is to blame. They attack Israel from a country that was not involved in the conflict and dragged them into it. Hez says that attacking soldiers was a military target but not if the country is not at war with you. Attacking any target when you are at peace with a country is a declaration of war. Hez took the first step. They bear the responsibility.

Seriously? Hezbollah is the primary aggressor. Syria and Iran are giving them money and weapons to fight their war. And the government of Lebanon for not reining Hezbollah in.
