You can with the block email address option in most software/website's options.
However, some sites only permit you to block so many email addresses. The other option is to setup some kind of filter to send it either to the junk mail folder, or direct to the trash. I know you can do this on Yahoo and Hotmail.. It's not hard, just have a search through your email's options - and see if the option is there..

If it is yahoo, goto options->block addresses and then enter the email address.
Outlook also provides you to block emails from particular sender or domain. Just right click on email and you will get that option.

You can block senders.
Use a mail washer and block the email address. It will always delete it before you retrieve the mail as long as you open the mail washer before you download your mail.
By the way, if you use Yahoo, they have a blocking facility too. It is one of the options.
