I work at a Law Firm and would really like to plan a holiday party where everyone would get involved with an activity. The people that work for the firm are very conservative but do like to have fun at this event. Any ideas, for a fun theme??

I second the Murder Mystery Dinner idea. Check with local restaurants or B&B's to see if they offer Murder Mystery nights. There are also 'kits" available so you can host your own, all you have to do is find a location that will accomodate your group for the event. Everyone gets involved in the game and it requires that everyone interact with each other.
My husband's company held one a few years ago and it was the best company party we had been to, before or since! Those in attendance are still talking about it. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the number of employees has grown so much that it isn't feasible to do an interactive dinner now.
Good luck with your party planning. I know it can be a difficult task as it is hard to please everyone. It always amazes me that someone will have something to complain about no matter what you do. The Murder Mystery Dinner however, was by far the most successful at pleasing the majority of the people. Neither of us can remember any complaints.
You will have to book it soon, very soon. These get fully booked for holiday parties very early.
Have fun!

If its a Christmas party do what we do in my family we play "dirty santa". Everyone brings a gift without nametags. You count the number of gifts and people and let them draw a number. Whoever has number 1 goes first, opens any gift. Number 2 then can either take numbers 1 gift or open another. Number 3 cant take one of the other gifts or open a new one. The person with the last number can pick from everything or open the last present. At the very end Number 1 gets to pick what he/she wants, then its over. It is so much fun what people will go for. If you get the same gift 3 times its yours no matter what. It is lots of fun and everyone is involved.

Why not have a "united nations" themed party where each employee can make a dish that represents there nationality, Also it's fun when you do a Kris Kringle.

You can all go around Christmas caroling then meet back at some place for hot chocolate, hot toddies, hot cider, hot-buttered rum and snacks of some sort. Make sure the alcohol drinkers have designated drivers to get home.

Why not have a huge door banging froth. Everyone get naked and find a partner.
