I don't know why we have them, but I have had extremely too many experiences to type. I'd literally be here all day. Here are a few I've had........the first was when I was in high school. It was 2 days before my 15 birthday and my best friend had the same birthday. He had just moved to Alabama and I went to bed thinking about calling him, but it was too late to call. I had a dream that we were in a car on a dark road and hit a pole. I saw him fly out the windsheild. Next thing I knew I was standing in front of him and saw that his neck was broken. I think it was more of an outer body thing. Anyway, the phone rand, it woke me up, the clock read 6:30am. It was his sister calling to tell me he had been killed in a car accident, he was pronounced dead at the scene and died from a broken neck.
Another time in high school, I fell asleep during my free enterprise class. I felt a blast of wind over me. It felt like someone threw crumbled up paper at me. Well, the clock was in the front of the class and the first thing I saw was the clock. It was 9:30am. I freaked out in class, grabbed my schoolbag, and walked right out of the class. I went home, called my mom at work, told her what happened, and she then told me that my grandfather had a massive heart attack at 9:30 am and died instantly.
Another time, I was on a date. We were going to the lake and I got a really bad feeling, like I had to throw up. Well, I asked my date to turn around and leave, but he didn't listen. We went anyway, and there was a riot going on. We were shot at and the car was hit numerous time with a baseball bat.
Another time, my friends and I were at a pool hall, and one of my friends got a call that her mom had to be rushed to the er after collapsing at the mall. I told her that my chest was hurting and that I knew her mom had a heart attack. I also told her that her mom died 3 times, but was revived and she will be fine. When we got to the hospital, turns out EVERYTHING I told her was true. Verified by the er doctor.
Many more similar to that, but I'm sure your bored by now.........

Some physicists/philosophers have proposed a holographic model of the universe. Without "going totally geek" on you, the basic concept is this.
In a regular photograph an image is stored as a "shadow" on a 2 dimensional medium. If you rip in in half you will have two halves of the image. In short, each point on the image only contains information regarding that particular point of the image.
In a hologram the image is actually stored as a diffraction pattern on the 2 dimensional medium. when you rip in in half you are left with two complete images (although you loose some clarity). In other words, all of the information that we need to see the full image is stored in each smaller piece of the hologram.
In the holographic model of the universe we, being a part of the universe, inherently posses information about the whole.
I find it interesting how this model neatly lines up with many of the more esoteric concepts from multiple religious/philosophical ideologies. The basic God is everywhere thing...

I had one once. I was going to go diving off the reefs where I had gone hundreds of times before, but this one time I was gripped by paralyzing fear from the moment I got in the water. I tried to overcome it but the farther out I got, the freakier the fear got. Finally I decided to come in, and just as I did a lifeguard truck rolled up and from the cliff above the lifeguard yelled for everybody to get out of the water--sharks, he said. It turned out to be 3 killer whales, they cruised by right where I was going to go diving. I talked it over with a doctor once, he said we probably all have vestigal 6th senses, and that mine was picking up on an alert put out by the sea creatures that killer whales were coming.

I have been having weird premonitions of a plane crash since I was about 12 years old and just a couple of weeks ago I watched a plane crash at an airshow. That kind of scares me because I also have a recurring premonition of going to jail.

Sometimes out of the blue someones face and name will pop into my head. I'll think about them for a day or two. Then like a week or two later I'll see them or hear about them.

It's just an insight, or kind of like a sixth sense that everyone has, I believe anyways.
