Yes. Except for specific medical usages it messes up the functions of the brain badly. And, if you are buying it as a recreational drug, what makes you think you even know if what you are getting is LSD or some combination of other chemicals to mimic it. You always run tremendous risks when messing around with chemicals.

All you have to do is listen to the list of warnings of pharmaceuticals which are being sold for legitimate medical purposes. By the end of the commercial who would want to take those risks?

It's like advertising: Reality getting you down. Want an exotic little escape, easily had, you don't have to travel--why not try LSD. Your mind will see the world differently, but always remember there are risks involved: you might be scome psychotic, the hallucinations might continue long after you have stopped using the drug, you might wind up as a vegetable brain in a psych ward for the rest of your life. Or you might become suicidal. So be sure you check with your dealer before you ask for this drug."

Is that kind of risk really worth it?

If your unaware that you have taken it, it will probably be a bit confusing and down right scary. I found the Grateful Dead back in the early 80's, that led to my first encounter with acid. I had a great time and for the next couple years enjoyed the acid experience. *note it is definitely not for everyone. I have never had a flashback nor did I experience a "bad" trip. I did have a few that I didn't enjoy, but I never felt as if i had damaged my brain in anyway. Acid did contribute to making me the person I am today.

When your sober your mind functions on a base state of reality. When you’re on sid, that base state is either heightened, or diminished (bad trip).

The truly amazing part is that when your perception is altered your able gain truly life-changing perspective, that can either (as said before) wake you up to the fact that your life is a meaningless lie, or take you to new levels of unimaginable happiness.

But remember, moderation is key. Too much trippin, and you'll wear your soul thin.

I believe that so-called "entheogens" work as follows. First off, they lower the sugar level in the blood, and thereby, in the brain. This jeopardises the spirit (as this is a function of the brain). The spirit, in so far as it is healthy, thereupon rebels against its own atrophying. In a personal adaptation of one of Jim Morrison's aphorisms, I've summarised it as follows:

"Trips are at once fruit and outcry against an atrophy of the spirit."

yes
Think of it like this, anything that alters your senses, actually alters your brain. The drug is actually damaging your brain a small amount each time you use it. Same w/ alcohol. Sure i use the words "small amount" but remember, you can't buy crap w/ a penny but 100 pennies is a dollar. It all adds up.

Most people have weak minds and cannot handle the experience. They come out of it realizing their life is a meaningless lie.

Yes, it is really that bad. Stay away from it and other illegal drugs. Get a life such that you don't have time for those drugs.
