open ur windows media player first and make sure its downloaded all the way

that should work

If the video file(s) are avi format, you may need to download the latest version of the DivX codec (coder/decoder) to play them. Go to Divx.com and click the Free Download button.

(And the files do have to be completely done downloading before you can play them, like Hannah said)
