Its is possible but it will be hard to do. I was in the same situation with my ex and it worked up til when i found a new girl to hang out with. Once that happened her friends started to treat me like i was the problom. So it can work but remind him that your just friends and try not to get upset if he starts dating other girls or acidentally hugs or kisses youin the first couple weeks of the brake up. Sometimes people forget. Your gonna have to keep reminding him for a while.

If there are children involved then 'yes' there needs to be some type of relationship with your ex, more cordial if anything. But if there aren't any children, I don't see why you would want to be a 'best' friend to your ex. Doing so could cause complications later on in life, if and when you had someone else that you became involved with.
Being on speaking terms with an ex sometimes happens early on in the divorce, but continuing any relationship isn't advisable, mainly for your own peace of mind, and to avoid tensions in the days to come.

You are wasting you time with that. There will always be tension and the "best friend" thing never works. Drop it and go on with your life without the ex.

nah u can't never be best friends....it is better if you just treat him casually.....not even in a friendship manner.....guys like these often take advantage and you will end up with having breakup sex with him....for him, he will get sex(casual sex) for you, you will be thinking that he loves you still and the morning after, he will say he is confused and that he should not have done that, and he will beg you to give him another chance and remain friends...the cycle will never stop till you stop it yourself.

hmmm.... i think u should drop the idea... because u know strong relationships don't get spoil without reason.... and continuing another relationship with the same man might not be a wise decision....
