I was about 30 when people started doing it. I am 33 now and sometimes I am called Ma'am, and sometimes it's Miss. It doesn't seem to matter what the age of the person using it is either. Oh well, I think both are nice attempts at being polite. It's all better than "hey you".

I am 36, I don't think I've heard it yet, but that might be because our drive-thru kids are less respectful than yours. About a year ago I watched one girl take a french fry out of my bag and eat it while she was waiting for my coke, then tried to give it all to me! And she was laughing as I told the manager (I walked inside). It was unbelievable. But anyway, no mam's yet, and I am not complaining!

I think Ma'am is a nice old fashioned way to show respect...I'm 56 and have never been called Ma'am yet...people say I look and act like i'm in my 30's...so I'm not griping or complaining!! But if and when I start being called Ma'am, I think it'll be really nice. Maybe then I'll pretend to act like an old granny!!

I easily have a 20mth previous and a 6week previous. She has been better sassy at the moment and what I do to attempt to regulate the sassy- is to make certain the antecedent. pretty its even as the baby is crying. So then I attempt redirection, and at the moment that hasnt been operating, so I attempt no longer paying any interest and that looks to make it worse, yet then she stops interior of 5mins- its like she had to placed on herself out. Its hard, yet one ingredient I study is that "you cant punish a 2yr previous for being a 2yr previous". raising your voice, yelling, hitting decrease back... all gained't artwork and easily educate them to attempt this. i imagine you're heading in the right route- who am I to understand? Im correct there with you! also... chatting with a lot and attempting to educate a lesson- no longer something you want to attempt to do- thats why timeouts dont artwork at this age- they dont understand what they did to get there! hehe as far as understanding even as to charm to the line... its as a lot as you and the issue. for sure if it includes a secure practices difficulty alongside with hiking on furnishings.. i ought to assert thats a good commence.. ingesting in public- I purely circumvent that all and sundry at the same time. haha. No suggestion there. I easily have 2 less than 2 and that i wouldnt fathom attempting that.. per chance in many years. besides, best of success to you, and thanks for asking a good question. i will appreciate reading others solutions. i'm also searching to purchase that e book the first man or woman reported! Take care

Probably 21 or 22 but that was because I was a young married woman living on a military post and that was the accepted reference used!

I've never been called Ma'am.
It's just the proper way to greet a woman, a little old fashioned maybe, but still very respectful.
I wouldn't take it so personally.

If I do not know your name, I'll call you "mam", even mid teens.
I only had one teenage girl, asked me not to call her Mam, I ask what should I call you, She said on the Phone.
