Mine are sleeping in a crib in my parents' room and being bathed in a sink.

I am told that memory begins to form at about 18 months, so maybe that's right.

What's yours?

Being held by my great-grandmother. I would have been less than 2 at the time. I remember her feeding me bits of a candy bar. I remember we were going to the market with my Mom. My mom always took her shopping once a week.

I remember waking up after nap time in my pink crib. The sun was setting because there was very little light in my room. I just laid there and stared at my mobile, I guess I wasn't sure if I wanted to cry or what. I must have been around 18 months old so I guess that's true about memory forming at that time.

I was about 1 1/2. I received a Chatty Baby doll and doll case with little red hangers in the drawer. My mom told me I received it as an Easter gift from my Grandmother. There is a picture of the doll, but I remember standing in my play pen and looking at the case on the counter.

I have 3 not very good ones:
1) my father trying to kill my mother because he wanted to go drinking, and he "knew" she hid some money, and my grand mother hitting him in the head with an iron pipe to get him off of her.(I was 4)
2) my mother in an argument with a neighbor, and impailing her arm on an Iron fence(I was 4)
3) Being sexually assaulted by a 19 year old"family friend" (I was 5)

my first memory is the Loma Prieta earthquake in san francisco. i was only two years old. i remember the ground shaking and the walls cracking. it was like a horror movie ! i was in the dining room when the earthquake started, scribbling in my coloring book. i remember seeing the chandelier swinging back and forth over my head. my dad put me and our puppy in the broom closet (yes the broom closet, lol). it was the safest place in the house because nothing could fall on us. i still remember the smell of the brooms in there. i could still hear everything shaking and rattling while i was in there.

since part of the bridge collapsed, the rest of my family couldn't get home that evening, so it was just me and my parents. the 'quake had knocked off all of our power so we lit candles all over the house. i remember sitting by a candle with my mom, trying to tune in to the radio.

that was one scary day, that i will *never* forget. yesireebob.

I'm not sure exactly how old I was but I remember falling off a step in the backyard. I didn't get hurt, but I remember it. It had to be before I was 2 and a half because we moved out of that house then.

To be completely honest I don't remember too much before my 7th birthday. I had to have open heart surgery right before the birthday and that's by earlist memory that "really" stays within my mind.
