It's chemical. Chocolate can induce feelings very similar to love.
Doesn't just work on women.

At first>>> it's mostly the pleasure of the sweet thought in receiving the sweet gift.
Then, it's the pleasure of the taste.
Then, it becomes the pleasure of the chemical addiction.
After the addiction becomes stronger, it becomes mostly the pleasure of the addiction.
Thank you, sincerely, for the opportunity of sharing info with others>>>
I was a cho-a-holic... was taken off of all caffeine products in 1989... found out that it can cause fibrosystic disease>>> hardening of muscle-tissue.
In the breast area... can't detect lumps easily... had some lumps full of fluid-caffeine, & almost half of one breast removed due to large solid lump.
These days, it's "carob products" (chocolate substitute) that warms my heart.

Chocolate is addictive, but it varies from one person to another. Chocolate also promotes the sexual side of a person. I don't believe it's chemical, mental or just pleasure. It has to do with the person himself/hersel; whether they react to chocolate or not.
I can live without chocolate. It's not a necessity and it will definately cause weight gain.

Chocolate contains substances called Phenylethylamine and Seratonin, both of which (put simply), are mood lifting agents found naturally in the human brain. They are released into the nervous system by the brain when we are happy and when we are experiencing feelings of love, passion or lust. This causes rapid mood change, a rise in blood pressure and increasing heart rate, inducing those feelings of well being, bordering on euphoria usually associated with being in love.
