"In Moderation" is key. A small amount of anything will not be damaging, but if you indulge in many diet products it can take a toll on some internal organs. You can eat wisely without chemicals. Some people prefer to do that. Your question doesn't just stay in the infant section, so it's rather unfair to purposely put it there. It goes into general unanswered questions, and everyone gets a shot at it. I answered it only because I thought you were using artificial sweeteners for your baby.

My sister got me one called Stevia claims to be 300 times sweeter than sugar. She got it from America. Says not approved as a food by the Food and Drugs Admin but OK as a supplement???
I put some in my porridge sometimes but it is not as sweet as claimed.
All the sweeteners have a bad press so I try not to take much of any of them.

hermesetas(original blue packaging) only contains sodium saccarin,no side effects like that aspartame crap..the sooner they ban it the better for everyone!

stevia or xylitol are very good for you btw

Yes sorbitol but it's also a mild laxative.
