I am the only one who is a little concerned with how much people are trying to always seek approval from other people? What is wrong with just accepting yourself for who you are? And why do a large amount of people care what other people are doing and how they act?

I agree completely! Most of us instinctively want to be liked by others. Some of us are NOT willing to lose our sense of self in the process. Others will fall into a pecking order of social interaction that changes everything about them... the way they act... talk... dress, etc. It's much harder to break away from the pack and do your own thing. It's not just confined to young people either. I know grown ups who are so plugged into what their peers are doing, wearing, driving that they make all of their decisions based on the taste of others. Personally, I gotta be me. I make my own choices and let others influence me as little as possible. If others have a problem with my independence and sense of self then they're free to spend time with someone else. Life is too short to spend time worrying too much about what others will think about every little thing. To thine own self be true.

I think while a significant quantity of men and women pray makes the prayer more potent. Faith is the middle of prayer, and when you have a small few praying with the religion the dimensions of a mustard seed, mountains will also be moved. Prayer is our verbal exchange with Christ, and I think He listens regularly, but when many are praying over the identical, I think His intervention is more potent. I realise you no longer short of to disappointed any individual in R&S, and no longer inquiring for prayer in your husband's co-employee. Know that I will uplift Pam in my prayers. God has some way of having our awareness, to avoid wasting us, or any person else, whether or not it's via health problem, injuries, fiscal disruptions.....however He may be a Healer, if it's in His will. Unbelievers do not realise this: an health problem could be a blessing, or our time to go out this earth. I pray for an intervention in Pam's lifestyles, preserve me published on her, melanoma is robust, be Christ is mightier! May God bless and preserve you, Shirl.

We live in a society where acceptance from others is something we're supposed to strive for. It's so wrong to look at that first and not acceptance of yourself. Those who do care so much what others think are insecure people who are hoping for someone to tell them how special/cute/wonderful they are, because they don't have confidence in themselves. They need "fed" compliments to make themselves feel better, but it's a cycle that will always repeat itself for them. I accept myself for who I am, I know who I am, and if someone likes me, then great....if they don't like me, so what? Self-acceptance should always come first.

I don't need approval from anyone. I am my own person and make my own decisions. There is a difference between seeking someone's approval and doing the right thing.

I think it may be part of our quest for knowledge. Having others' opinions gives us another point of view and opens our minds to new information to explore.
