Why not? There are/were a lot of disabled musicians, such as:

Curtis Mayfield--a member of the Impressions of the early 60’s. He became disabled after a sound tower fell on him in 1995, causing him to become paralyzed from the waist down.

Robert Winters - Singer - smash hit Magic Man. Born disabled with muscular dystrophy.

Teddy Pendergrass- became disabled after his horrific car crash into a oak tree, paralyzing him from the waist down.

Stevie Wonder - blind

Jose Feliciano - blind

Itzhak Pearlman - the great violinist - disabled with polio from birth, has toured the country for many years.

Marlee Matlin

Marlee Matlin is a stand-up comedian and an actress. Some of her films include Dead Silence, It's My Party, Hear No Evil, Bridge to Silence, Walker, and Children of A Lesser God. In 1987, she captivated the world by winning the Academy Award for Best Actress in the film Children of a Lesser God. She became deaf in infancy due to Roseola infantum.

If the music was good, however if the music was crap, I wouldn't buy off ablebodied or a disabled person, but I think you have an uphill struggle, so for that I wish you good luck..
Here in France there is an artist/singer/actress and is vertically challenged(dwarf) but people base her on her talent, not physical appearance...

Ian Dury
Curtis Mayfield
Robert Wyatt

To name but three - of COURSE I'd buy CD's from/by a 'disabled' artist.

Let's not confuse talent with appearence, huh? I know it might be difficult in the modern world, and we might not have any disabled Boy Bands.......... but then, what have Boy Bands got to do with REAL music anyway?!

it would depend if your music was any good. I wouldn't buy a CD by a disabled artist just because they were disabled, because that is the same as pitying them in my opinion.

If your music was something I liked, of course I would.

What has your disability got to do with your talent. If you are good then go for it, things like that should'nt bother you, if it does then this is not the future for you cos its tough and a lot of competition, but believe in yourself and to hell with the rest, most of all be kind to yourself.

not sure what you mean by disabled, but it doesn't have any bearing on the music. I have plenty of Teddy Pendegrass CD's, I even have a D.O.C. tape. If you mean disabled, as in Ashleee Simpson, then no.

It wouldn't matter to me if the artist was disabled. I'm listening to the song and if I like it or not and thats it. If you have talent use it. The song comes from your heart not from your feet.

It is sad to think that we are still making distinctions. I buy a piece of music because I like it, which is the only reason anyone should need!!
