Why confront her? What she was doing was perfectly natural. To confront her would only give rise to feelings of embarassment for both of you, and potentially lead to sexual insecurities (for your daughter) which needn't be there.

In today's society, it is very important for women & girls to be confident about their sexuality. Without confidence, sex becomes a much more complex issue and girls are less able to protect themselves.

Also, ask yourself - would you confront your son? If so, to achieve what?

If you know exactly why you want to discuss sex issues with your kids, it gives you an honest approach - without resorting to "I saw you".

Good luck.

Don't even confront her. Its very normal, just be glad she wasn't doing the real thing ya know.
It's okay for young people to do that it's how they explore themselves and control their hormones. Don't act weird around her or you will make her very uncomfortable. As long as shes home and not doing that with some guy its fine and most importantly safe. However you may want to talk to her about sex, because if she is exploring herself, she does have those urges and you need to make sure she make responsible choices about sex, just don't bring up masturbation and what you saw, otherwise she will never be able to talk to you about sex, which is what really needs the talking

You don't have to confront your daughter about anything. She was in her own room, in her own bed, touching her own body. Leave her alone, and allow her some privacy.

Why do you need to say anything to her she is not doing anything wrong. But if you must, talk to her like you are her friend and like you understand what she is going through, you might want to through in one of your first stories. Just to make her feel comfortable. But please don't yell at her and tell her its wrong because this is natural and she might not want to talk to you about anything again. P.S. It might be time for your sex talk
