When my husband and I first heard our son's heartbeat it was the most beautiful sound we'd ever heard. He and I were both almost crying (and he almost NEVER cries). It was just so incredible. When we saw the baby on the ultrasound a few weeks later we were both so excited. They could tell he was a boy as soon as the first image came on the screen and my husband made sure to tell everyone we saw that day (yes, complete strangers we passed in the hall) that he was gonna be a daddy and that we were having a little boy. Those are moments I'll never forget.

I had been bleeding and cramping the day before my first doctor's appointment (at 3 months) and my husband and I were terrified that I was miscarrying. The next day, my doctor checked me out and told me that everything looked good and that we shouldn't worry. She took about 10 minutes to find my son's heartbeat (because he was still so tiny), but she finally did find it. I tell you, I never cried so much in my entire life! My husband and I were so relieved to know that he was okay, and hearing his heartbeat just proved it to us! My husband even cried (and he NEVER cries). When we saw our son at my first ultrasound, it just made us even more relieved because we knew that he was going to be a healthy baby. Oh my, I'm getting emotional just typing this. My son is now a healthy 2-year-old boy, and he brings so much joy to our lives.

Congratulations and all the best to you and your new baby!

I feel you on the whole crying thing. When i first heard my babys heartbeat I was in the hospital cause i got in a car accident. at this time i was six weeks pregnant and debating on weather I was going to have an abortion or not. As soon as i heard her heart beat i knew that i couldnt go through with it. And i know i did the right thing.

It was by far the most amazing thing in the world!

For me it just made the pregnancy seem more "real"...like you KNOW you're pregnant, but until you actually SEE and HEAR the baby, it's almost like it's just a "concept".

It's funny cause every one told me that I would cry when I went to my first ultrasound, but for me it was the opposite, I just laughed and was sooooo over-joyed!

You have so much to look forward to! Just wait til you actually look into your baby's eyes for the first time...THAT will be one of the most incredible moments of your life!!!

I cried when I saw the ultrasound. I just felt shocked at both. I knew I was pregnant, but at that early stage, having not felt movement yet, that was REAL confirmation of my baby.
My husband cried, too.

It was very moving though I don't remember what I felt because I was too busy staring at my boyfriend who was wiping tears from his eyes. He was there for the very first ultrasound and every other doctors appt.

With my twins I was so excited when I saw two babies on there. It was really cool. Then I felt kinda sick when It really hit me I was gonna have twins. It felt like a huge responsibility.
