I drive a '96 Pontiac firebird and for some odd reason the left turn signal won't blink... when I turn it on it just stays on. i've checked to see if any of the bulbs were blown out and they were fine...but I’ve changed all of the bulbs and wiring anyway. it works somewhat now..but still has tendencies to get stuck and not blink...what do i check next???

It is probably a bad socket. I don't think the flasher is bad or both sides would be having problems. You said you changed the wires and bulbs so next would be to change the signal switch in the steering column. Sometimes you can spray electrical contact cleaner into the signal activator on the column and they will start to work again. I don't know for sure what the problem is, but, I am suggesting things to check. Good luck !

i know what you are talking i do that to when im changing lanes i would say go to auto zone or a jeep place and see if they can order it. i havent changed a turn signal switch but i have done a windshield wiper switch on a 03 grandcherokee and it was pretty easy i would imagine that they are almost the same. if you have a 99-04 and you have some knowledge of cars then you should have no problem doing it yourself

The bulb is probably bad. Ive had them stay on and when replaces they would flash. If that doesnt work, have the fixture that it plugs in to, or there might be a relay that feeds the light that might need checked.

If it's just the left side, it is not getting a good complete circuit. Check all wiring. You can also swap the blinker relay, but that's probably not it if the right blinker works. Good luck.

It is probably your flasher, located somewhere behind the dash. This is a simple replacement that you can do yourself.
