I am a single- white female with twin boys. When I left my now ex-husband for beating the hell out of me when I was pregnant with them, we were supported by welfare while I finished my education. I am thankful that there was a program to help me and my sons when I needed it. I don't mind that my tax dollars may go to someone that may abuse the system (whatever the race) as long as there is a person that is genuinely in need receiving the help they need to get back on their feet.

Truth be told, more whites are on welfare than blacks. However there is a higher percentage of Blacks per capita. (example out of 100 blacks, there are 53 on welfare, where as of 100 whites 28% are on welfare) this is only an example

It also is a generational thing. It seems to be past down from generation to generation every since the program began.

When we were growing up, we were on welfare for about 6 months after my father abandoned us 3 kids and my mom. It took her that long to find affordable day care for us, and a job for her. It was a stepping stone, not a way of life. I remember my mother being embarrassed to be on public assistance, and that made her ever more determined to find a job. I wish it was that way for everyone.

First and foremost we are all ONE race of people, human beings, and we have different skin colors based on different cultural heritage. Next, the fascination that free-loaders have with welfare is called entitlement. Some people think that the "government" (which is actually the tax payers and there elected represetatives) owes them. We don't. The welfare lifers have no vision, no respect and they have no idea what it is to work for a living. Bill Clinton is their hero and if we don't get our butts out there and vote, Hillary will be their new hero when she takes her next 8 years in office.

It's not just a black thing, but it's the idea of many that they are owed everything. The gov't (especially the DNC) coddles the mentality and makes excuses for those that are lazy (physically and mentally). People must realize that nothing is free and that people create their own destiny. Those that have 8 children for more welfare should automatically be castrated because they are the same as criminals and exploit the system for lazy gain. They are no less than thieves and thugs.

If your dumb-*** does a little research I'm sure you'll be surprise to know that there are more poor Caucasians on the welfare rolls then any other group. It's not a race thing Dopey, it's a socio-economic problem that we as a nation have to deal with. Spewing hate isn't gonna fix it!!!

My husband and his family is black. They have *never* been on welfare not a day in their lives.

My family and I are white. My father lost his job several times when I was a kid and, when worse came to worse, we were on welfare.

Not everyone on welfare is looking for a free ride. And race doesn't determine who's on welfare and who's not.

I'd say if you were a poor single mother with a gaggle of kids at home, you might be fascinated by welfare too.

Are you familiar with the term 'social welfare'? It's the kind of handouts that rich white people give to their children for college, buying them out of going to war, buying their way into a good job. I feel that everyone should have to work hard to get to where they want, not just poor people.
