I suggest this:
Get him to lay quietly on his side, and put some 3%-5% hydrogen peroxide in his ear.
Tell him to expect to hear it bubble and make noise it will tickle a bit.
let it work for 5 minutes. Do the other side.
This will remove much of the wax without digging in his ear..which is dangerous.
Repeat this again in next day or two. The ears will clean up after a few sessions.
You may want to warm the peroxide to body temp before putting it in his ear. I do this by using filling an eye dropper with peroxide and holding it in my hand until it does not feel cool.
Worked for my boys, they could make wax faster than bees.

The peroxide idea is a very good one and it is one that I do myself. Don't do it too often though because there should always be some wax in the ear to prevent infection. If you don't like the peroxide idea (some kids don't like the bubbling sound), you can warm some mineral oil or sweet oil (old school remedy) and put that in the ears. Place cotton balls inside the ears with the oil inside for about 30 mins. Then have him to take a shower and let the water run in his ears. That should get rid of the buildup without removing all of the wax. After that put a drop or two of rubbing alcohol in his ears to dry up the excess water. Hope this helps

Lay him down on his side and pour peroxide in his ear. You can get this at any drug store or super market. Let it bubble for about ten to fifteen minutes. The have him drain it out on to a cloth. If necessary repeat. This is a very harmless way to clean out an ear canal, and may save you a trip to the doctor. If, however, this does not take care of the problem, take him to a doctor.

Put a couple of drops of Olive oil in his ears it helps to loosen the wax, but he does need to see a doctor and possibly have ears syringed. This is not a painful experience, I've had it done a couple of times. My doctor told me to use cooking oil its cheaper than chemist.

When in doubt, I would ask a doctor, especially if his earwax is black in color. I dont think that's healthy.

u may want to take him to a ear doctor......but a way recommended by my doctor is to clean the ear with a bobby pin...(things gurls put in ears) Because q-tips don't really clean it out...they just pack it down.....

That sounds like something serious- you might need to take him to see a doctor.
