It sounds like you have a water quality issue. Not necesarily bad water, but very different than what the new angels are used to. In the wild, they come from slow moving streams with quite soft, acid water in South America.
A difference of less than 1.0 in pH range will kill new fish that are put into the tank.
You must also do weekly or bi-weekly water changes of 25-30%. If you don't, the ammonia and nitrates will build up to toxic levels. This will kill new fish right away and over the long haul, it will weaken the immune systems of the fish you already have and they will die too. It is amazing what fish will tolerate if it happens very slowly over a long period of time. However, new fish will succumb over the course of a few days.

Depends how your tank is setup. I've had tanks for years and successfully had angelfish. Angelfish, silver dollars, different types of sharks, different type of catfish...loads of tropicals. Did cyclids for awhile..but they are aggressive and hard to keep because they eat the other cyclids!
NO live baring fish in the tank with egg layers...such as mollies, swordtails, guppies. If you want tropicals..go with tropicals..if you want live barers..only go with live barers. Don't mix them...your tropicals will get diseases from your live barers. They almost always infect the tank when they have babies and they have babies A LOT.
I don't know what I do..I don't use any chemicals other than stress zyme and stressease when I fill the tank and do cleanings. I have a python tank cleaner that I used to clean it. I use powerhead filters in conjuction with the side filters...like the emperor filters. Other than the heater set at 78..I don't know what it is I do. I live in the country and have hard water as well. But kept tanks in town with soft water the same way.
I don't know if any of that will help you.
And angel fish are perfectly ok to put in the tank with other fish. I've never had a problem with them attacking fish. I've had them tanks, as I said, with silver dollars, different shark types. Different catfish types. You just have to watch what you put them in with..as it with any type of fish. You have mellow fish and you have slightly aggressive fish..and you have REALLY aggressive fish. You put the fish with fish of it's same aggressivness.
You can't put tank salt in a tank unless the fish require brackish water. The salt isnt good for freshwater fish. Some can handle a slightly brackish tank but most fish will die because of it. Also make sure you get something to remove the ammonia from the water. When fish pee..it creates amonia in the tank and you have to remove that. They make these crystal things you put in cheescloth type bag and put it in the tank behind a plant or something..removes the ammonia.

Angel fish are VERY territorial. Make sure you are getting some that have been living together for a while. Otherwise, you could get to aggressive fish that will fight to the death over the tank!

do research on the angel fish. do they need a certain water pH / density / temp? also--you may want to invest in aquarium salt and stress coat. they both help the fish relax, as well as keep the tank running healthily!
make sure you float the fish before adding them so they don't go into shock, and that they're compatible with your other fish.
a little research goes a long way!

you need to have a heater in the aquarium, they are tropical, you need to have either an air pump or aquatic live plants, and to de chlorinate the water and let it set for a day. Angel fish are agressive though and do best as solitary fish
