They are 'an irritation' and I would like to find a way of stopping them.

I have used their Box which advises that it will take a few days to remove me from their mailings, but they somehow arrange it so it has someone elses address which by mistake comes to me (And a reason for Why they do so would be interesting?).

Any advice or recommendations would be very greatfully accepted........!

Unfortunately, no easy way, other than, providers like Yahoo will sceen them all out into one box, which, with one click, you can erase. Labeling them as scams does not help because they come at you from thousand emails.

One thing you can do---you can restrict your receipt of email to a few addresses. That way, everything else will bounce, and you will never see it. The risk of course is that you will miss out on some genuine emails as well.

I was getting so ticked off by spam, that I learnt how to trace the persons responsible, it was hard, but I now know a lot of the tricks, and ways to find 'em.

My inboxes are now much less spamised because I abuse the sender after finding them. Start reading as much as you can about spam: Blogs, advice pages, pamphlets, FAQ's, if it says SPAM, read it. Research, research research.

Alternatively, you could just bin it like most people do.

It's spam, I'm afraid, so it'll keep on coming regardless. The best you can do is mark it as Spam so that it will be relegated to your bulk mail folder and keep it separate from important emails. Spam labelling depends on your email provider/client, but in Yahoo! Mail there is a single button that lets you mark the current email as spam.

Depends on your email service. Sometimes you can block emails from certain people. To avoid the situation I have two email addresses one which I keep totally private and only give to friends and family and another "junk" email address which I use for signing up for stuff where there is a danger that that company is going to sell on my email address to other companies or take it upon themselves to send me a constant stream of crap that I don't want.

Just make a spam filter (most email providers have this feature) to disallow certain subjects / words. These can be redirected to a folder that you can check periodically (to retrieve any 'good' emails) and can delete the rest.

I don't know what you are using to check your email but I know you can block the address in which the email is coming from. I know this can be done in Outlook Express and at the Hotmail website.

spam: it's a b---ch: first step; automatically put these into your blacklist, never respond to any part or link on them; this only tells them there is somebody there. be stealthy and don't answer the knock. in 'outlook express' go to tools>message rules>block senders list>blocked senders>add (and into the line box, cut and paste the address of the senders mail address)

Put that phrase in your filters in your options in Yahoo mail, or whichever you are using. Then, and this is most important, simply delete them. Do NOT open them.
