Uh, I don't understand....if he needs to be on a diet, why do YOU need suggestions? Do you ride with him as he hits the open road? That's great....if he's like most men, I'm sure he could use help with directions! :)

I have driven trucks and work at a trucking company now.
He needs to get a refer/cooler and a microwave for the truck and stay out of fast-food places.
High fiber= fruit, whole grain bread, lots of veggies, like salads, and baked sweet potatoes. BEANS! Lots of water.
Snack all day on high-fiber crackers and veggies.
Add metamucil or benefiber to every drink, or sprinkle on salads--it is tasteless and won't change anything, but boost fiber.
Buy him a little hyper dog, so he has absolutely no excuse to skip exercise on the road. AT LEAST , a jump-rope or pedometer, and tell him to work up to 10,000 steps a day.
If he is behaving on the road, you will be able to tell in 2 weeks. He will lose weight (like 10-15 lbs), fart a lot, and feel a whole lot better.
He'll have to stop more often to go potty, but that is a good thing.
If you don't notice the difference, he's cheating.

Pack carrots and similar vegetables for him. And if he's on the road during the week, send instant oatmeal or something similar with him: He should be able to get hot water wherever he goes. Send wheat and whole-grain breads along with the other stuff he might take to make sandwiches.

Good luck!

He may need to use a fiber supplement that will help alot. Mutamucil comes in packets and he can aesily bring them along. Pack him some fresh fruit before he heads out. You can't moniter what he eats so the supplement is key.

Keep whole wheat or bran cereal to munch on dry. Apples are good. If he's not willing to eat right get him to take Metamucil. It makes you gassy though.
