Women that normally bleed lightly will probably mistake this as the start of their period. Or, you may not bleed at all, and you totally miss your period. Pregnancy tests can give you a result as soon as a few days after your missed period, but a negative might not be a true negative.
I've heard of, though have never witnessed or known anyone personally that went through it, situations such as Clover outlines, but this is typically an unusual circumstance.

Well under normal situations I would say slap her with the book of truth. The first missed period is a good sign of being pregnant. But I had a cousin that didn't realize she was pregnant until the day she delivered. She still had her period and she didn't look pregnant. I don't know how often that happens, but my cousin proved to me that it is possible to have a period and be pregnant.

you do NOT have to wait until you missed your first period I KNOW! I am now 8 weeks and I took a home test two weeks after my period and found out that I was preg! Yet I took it that fast because I am a high risk carrier! Good luck
