I have hundreds of mp3's in folders, and my friend wants me to send him a list, so he can tell me which ones to burn, but How? Or any folder, with movies, photos etc?

Well, for the MP3's, you can download Winamp (an mp3 player) and add all your songs to the playlist. There's an option to generate an HTML Playlist... you could e-mail him that.

If you're not afraid to work from the command prompt, here's a relatively easy method (disregard the " marks in the instructions):
1. Go to "Start", then "Run", type in "cmd", and hit enter.
2. From the prompt that you see, type in the following:
"CD \" and hit enter
3. Now type in: dir /s *.mp3 > mp3list.txt (and hit enter)
That will create a text file called "mp3list.txt" which you can then send to your friend as an attachment in an e-mail.

The m3u filetype is a playlist. Playlists don't comprise track themselves, they just confer with track records. Therefore it could be inconceivable to transform them, considering the fact that there may be not anything to transform.
