Yes, the younger the better.
Working for wingspan in the 80`s and 90`s I found this to be almost universal with few exceptions.
However today there has been a swing to a different source. With the Public school systems teaching it as an alternative life it has become easier to be gay, for some, than learning the socialization's needed to attract and be with the opposite sex.
If its easy to do and feels good, do it. then do it again. Now you have a sexual preference.

Absolutely not. If that were true there would be a whole lot more gay people in this world. Think about it... There are more single parents out there than two parent households. A child molester doesn't just molest one child then get caught. People are who they are. Yeah you past plays a role, but you determine what your present is gonna be.

Being gay is not a mental condition caused by some childhood trauma, the trauma comes from a lifetime of people telling you that you are made wrong. Since 1973 homosexuality is no longer viewed as a mental disorder by the American Psychiatric Association. Mental disorders get in the way of living a productive life, being gay does not. Maybe one day, people who preach hate instead of love will be seen as crazy. I love a man instead of a woman..This is not a problem for me, its just life.

NO! Being gay is not because of a bad childhood. I am sure many Gays have had a bad childhood, but so have a lot of straights. There are now numerous studies showing more evidence that this is a genetic situation.

Take it from someone who was raped by seven teenagers as a 9 year old child. I was bisexual before the rape happened. It may even have been that the boys somehow sensed that I was different which would explain why they singled me out to be the recipient of their violence. This might explain why this myth is prevalent even though discounted time and time again.

good lord honey, we're born that way! i had an idyllic childhood, my father was a sports nut my mom stayed home and baked cookies. it's not a trauma or any ones fault (except God) we were born that way it happens in every single species on the planet. don't feel sorry for us, just be open and loving like you would with anyone else, it's not contagious.

at the risk of sounding redundant, no, this is pure bunk. my childhood was not all that bad, and the only reason my adult life sucks is I work for the federal government.
the latest theory is actually hormone exposure in the womb. My dad was fine, and my brother isn't gay.
