It the same as it always has, living in obedience to God' will, talking to Him daily , reading His word, and sharing the good news with anyone outside the faith.

I am a Christian, and am saddened by the state in which the religious system is currently situated. For the most part, to be a Christian seems to mean that one has to reject science (without even examining the evidence), accept antiquated dogma, pledge one's unquestioning fidelity to the inerrant scripture (an idea that is relatively new, the Christian scriptures have not always been treated in this way), and reject any historical, social-scientific, literary, etc. criticism of the Bible. Everything seems to focus on right belief.
Yet, Christians are supposed to be mobile participants in this world, endeavoring to bring peace, justice, food, clothing, shelter, and hope to all who cry out for these things. All of the gospels (especially Luke), Acts, Paul's letters, and even Revelation attest to this, yet it seems to be largely forgotten.
Belief is important, I'm not saying it isn't, but belief that has become so concretized that it is no longer open to be debated, pondered, and ultimately changed or rejected is born of arrogance, pride and fear - all things (especially the first two) that Christians should renounce.
Sorry for the rant, but it felt good to get it off my chest. Great question, and I hope it helped a bit.

If a Christian is in the world today he/she is not a Christian. Not only are Christians not in the world today, they were not in it yesterday, nor will they be in it tomorrow.
Christians are called to a kingdom which is not of this world. They are not called to reform or improve upon this world. Their presence stands between mankind and total chaos. That is the place of the Christian life in this world.
Further Christians are part of a new creation. The present creation having been left to run its course.
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." "Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind...." "...If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

Thanks to fast moving information like the internet and satellite tv, people have much more information but no way to make sense of it all. So you get more people that have heard all the things a Christian knows and has their own theories to what it might be. An incredible amount of disinformation floating without explanation.
Then you have the movements of non Christianity that are taking on this belief. They are also armed with information that many Christians don't know how to combat.
This makes the life harder and more technical to a Christian. Eventually most people will look at most beliefs Christian and non Christian as misinformed or misguided people. Not realizing that they themselves have simply informed themselves right out of knowing reality.

Christianity has been the same from the beginning of it's existence. It's not just following rules. It's a way that God has solved our problem of sin and separation from God. We are sinners, and deserve death and destruction. But God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place so that we can be with God.
Let me just explain to the non-beleivers that sin is not just having sex before marriage, smoking, or violence. It goes much deeper than that. It's has to do with our inner nature: our pride, selfishness, etc...which is the root of conflicts in many homes and on a wider scales resulting in wars. So now you have a better veiw on sin. Let's get back to the topic.
A lot of people think we are just stupid idiots following something that doesn't exist. How about the wind, you can't see it, but you feel it? It's the same with God. Some people are blind, though, and can't see or feel his love. But a lot of people feel this God and believe in him even though they do not see him or hear him. They just have faith and know that he is their guiding their paths.
Also people say, "oh those Christians can't have sex before they are married. How stupid is that?" But science itself has proved that it is better to have sex after marriage or else you can get all these different diseases from sleeping and having sex with many people.
Christianity isn't about going to church all your life, and being good. Though it is good for a Christian to grow more in God by learning more about him through the church. But a true Christian is one who believes in God, accepts his loving grace, and confesses that he is a hopeless sinner without God. After that God gives us the desire to do his perfect will, but we do fail and that's where God puts us back on our feet and try again.

No more blow jobs, and sex only in the missionary position. Sex only after marriage as well. Good thing the lord is forgiving. The Lord does not forget, however the Lord does forgive. Oh and devoting your life to God. Means more than just going to church and believing, you need to devote your entire life to God. Have faith in the lord and he will provide comfort.

you go to a gathering of like minded people who listen to someone who claims to know what a deity is thinking. of course the person speaking is paid by those attending to say these things to reinforce their belief system because no sane person would ever buy into the ludicrous drivel that is said at these gatherings
