Bad. It's just as awful as female genital mutilation. And that's all it is. Genital mutilation. Something no one should ever have to go through. If I ever had a baby boy, I would NEVER allow circumcision to take place.

It has no proven benefits, and can significantly damage the penis if done incorrectly. Why take the risk, because your "God" tells you to? Why would any "God" want you to harm your baby? It's repulsive to use religion as a reason to mutilate your baby's genitals, male or female.

A good parent should be teaching their child how to keep themselves clean, thus making "infections" nonexistent. A good parent should be cleaning them properly while they are infants. A good parent would be establishing, from day one, proper hygenic practices. Keep it clean, and you don't get infections.

Not to mention after having both worlds, unsnipped feels so much better and I'm sorely disappointed to find out a boyfriend has been snipped.

Honey I've had plenty of experience. Show me ANY *legitimate* proof that circumcision has any positive benefits beyond making you feel adequate by making your boys the same as you, and I'll reconsider my stance. I've dated plenty of men that haven't been snipped that have never had a problem because they were taught how to keep themselves clean and how to care for themselves. There's no cure for lazy parents, especially those that would inflict intentional permanent harm on their child.

The American Medical Association and the American Paediatric Association have both stated that although there are minor health benefits for infants, there are no statistically significant benefits for anyone over 1 year old - and that the surgery cannot be recommended as a routine operation.

When the foreskin is removed, the glans (head) of the penis is permanently exposed, and develops a layer of keretin - a thick skin that reduces sensation in the nerves covering the glans.

The foreskin itself contains thousands of nerve endings, which add to sexual pleasure in an intact adult male.

There is no acceptable reason for routine circumcision. There are in some cultures religious reasons; and there are a few cases where it is considered medically necessary (where the foreskin does not form properly and cannot be retracted).

The US is the ONLY country where this is routinely practiced on infants.

In my opinion it is good here is why?

On the plus side, studies indicate that circumcised infants are less likely to contract a urinary tract infection (UTI) in the first year of life. About one out of every 1,000 circumcised boys has a UTI in the first year, whereas the rate is one in 100 (at most) for uncircumcised infants.

Circumcised men may also be at lower risk for penile cancer, although the disease is rare in both circumcised and uncircumcised males. Although some studies indicate that the procedure might offer an additional line of defense against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), particularly HIV, the results of studies in this area are conflicting and difficult to interpret.

It's also easier to keep a circumcised penis clean, although uncircumcised boys can learn how to clean beneath the foreskin once the foreskin becomes retractable (usually some time before age 5). However, some uncircumcised boys can end up with infected foreskins as the result of poor hygiene.

I live in NY and circumcision is the norm. I would do what my culture accepts. I don't think it causes any harm and I must say it looks much better and is cleaner. I wouldn't want my son to have an unhealthy sex life because he is self conscious about his foreskin. Many adults opt for circumcision too, they would probably be the best person to ask.

Opinion, I like a circumcised one better, for looks, and feel, but maybe I am just used to that look.
One of my sons was circumcised and one wasn't, so they would look like their dads.
Medically, I guess it is smarter to circumcise, but our culture is relatively a clean one, so maybe that is not a factor.
I think it is disgusting to cut a baby, just to satisfy some achaic religious idea.
An uncircumcised one generally has more feeling for the man, once he does get aroused, since it is not exposed to stimulation all the time (so I heard.)
Hope I helped.

dont look at it as a religious thing, in the medical books, circumcision can prevent many infections, diseases, and even a form of cancer. plus, uncicumcised men are more likely to contract AIDS than circumcised men

I think that if I were to have a boy, I would let my future husband decide if the child should be circumsized. I think it is a very cultural/traditional thing. Considering the vast number of men who are both circumsized and uncircumsized, obviously it is not a huge concern.

There is nothing healthy or unhealthy about circumsition. It doesn't make sex healthier, anything can happen any way. It's not good or bad, it just depends on how the parents were raised and what they believe is right for their children.

Depends on the penis. Some guys actualy needs one, and never had it. Some guys have a very small opening on their foreskin, and they can't peel the foreskin to even wash their penis head, and it may even get injuredon humping. In my case, I'm not circumcisied, but I can peel my foresking all the way, so I don't need one.
