Too many. That shows a serious deficiency in learning US History for the American subscribers. The foreign ones are mostly biased and have only some vague memories of US foreign policy, but no ideas about how screwed up the domestic policy of some of our presidents was.

Carter, FDR, LBJ, Hoover were pretty bad presidents. Clinton was probably the worst person to occupy the post, the corrupt bastard that he is, but overall he achieved mediocrity.

Now don't get me wrong, Bush is pretty bad, but the worst in history? How much history are you thinking about now?

James Buchanan was the worst president in US history. He caused "Bleeding Kansas", a particularly violent time in the Midwest, when he tried to compromise on slavery by letting the people vote on whether Kansas and Nebraska should be slave states. He was totally in denial about the forces tearing the US apart. His inaction during his time as president led directly to the Civil War.

Again, I think Bush is going to go down in history as one of the worst, when all is said and done, but unless a civil war breaks out in the next two years, Buchanan takes the cake.

The question relates to history. Bush's legacy is still being written. Nixon and Carter are often referred to as the worst Presidents, yet reflecting on their accomplishments and the human condition of their day, it's hard to say that they did worse than anyone else could've done. But, hey, it's all a matter of opinion right? Mine? I feel that Bush Sr. got a bad rap from having to deal with the aftermath of Reaganomics. But hey, that's just me.

He ranks right up there. His foreign policy has been a disaster. The deficit is totally out of control. He's infringed on human rights. And has hurt the reputation of the US all over the world. The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, and young men are dying every day due to his policies. Yes. I believe he's one of if not the worst President this country has ever had

Don't judge a person til you've walked a mile in their shoes. I might not fully agree with every decision that is made but I wouldn't want to be the person having to make that decision. Besides, Bush is nothing more than the front-man for the entire US government. He doesn't make decisions unilaterally. He is advised by his cabinet, then those ideas have to be approved by the other branches of the US government. He's little more than a scapegoat for the criticism of the citizens of the country he's serving. Seems like a thankless job to me.

He's worse than the worst - he's so far down the list its ridiculous. He's a totally incompetent fool that hasn't got the sense God gave a goose.....a functional illiterate with an IQ of about 80......and what's worse is he thinks he's right about everything he does!! But, he should be an inspiration for those who are retarded - he's living proof that you can become president, so people who are mentally challenged should never give up.

Can't say who the worst president is, but as far as I know, he is the first to absolutely be the dummy frontman for an avaricious and rapacious group of industrialists. It's a good game plan. they get to use the US military paid for by our taxes. Then make mega-millions on the war. How can I get a job like that?

probably about 50%. Unfortunately, they are wrong. That would hang around the neck of guys like Grant, Carter, Harrison.

Unfortunately, about 50% of yahoo users do not know their own history. Coincidence???

I don't think he is the worst. People are still mad that the baby killing gay lover lost to him. Don't worry his term is almost done so everyone can elect a new president for them to complain about.
