Superman is invincible, while the clothing he wears is not. However Superman produces an aura of protection around him that is a couple centimeters thick. Kind of like a thin force field. He wears tights because they snuggle close enough to his body to be protected by his force field. Regular clothing would not be protected and he would be nude once he did a battle with someone. This is why in the comics ma Kent is always making him new capes. They are not protected by his aura.

Superman is from the planet Krypton. On Krypton they all wear their undies on the outside. Superman can't figure out why Earth people wear their underwear under their clothes...especially women who spend $100.00 for a bra and $50.00 for panties at Victoria's Secret and then wear them underneath their clothes where noone can see them.

Cuz on account that those sketch heros are extraordinary they dress extraordinary too. and that i mean who does dat donning a underclothes over his pants dats quite extraordinary! ( NO offence to the ppl dat lyke the cartoons) :)
