Depression is a serious mental disorder, and would be considered a "negative thing." it can affect appetite, sleep, school work, professional work, family life, parenting and even result in suicide. Those who are depressed are suffering from either a chemical imbalance in the brain, difficult life events, or both. Depression can run biologically. Often, depression results as a combination of a biological make-up that is set off by a significant environmental trigger. Those who are depressed have difficulty experiencing joy, and express trouble with concentration. These are just some of the general symptoms.
Depression is negative, and can even take lives. I would suggest treatment through medication and/or psychotherapy.
Regarding the previous comment, yes, depression can change your life and open up your eyes, help you with a novel or whatever...but what good would that be if you end up comitting suicide. A lot of famous artists, poets, and authors used their depression to fuel their works. However, they also commited suicide.

I guess depression could be viewed as bittersweet, not necessarity positive. I think I see where you're going. Depression can bring out in some people a deeper understanding and connection with the world and the things that are wrong with it. This could make some more compassionate and understanding. I think that all of us experience depression at varying degrees and for some of us, it can be a very enlightening experience, especially when the cloud is lifted. If not harnessed, however, melancholy thoughts can manifest into something more.

Beauty can come out of sadness. There have been many writers/poets who have written out of their despair. Ever heard of the "tortured artist" ? I suppose not. Emotion isn't based on a linear scale. If it were, life would be lackluster. In all actuality, the reason why most people are depressed is because they're able to see things from a rational perspective. Ignorance is what allows a person to be "happy". They're blind to what's going on in the outside world. Stimuli doesn't affect them the same way. You haven't lived until you've been depressed. I hate to say.

we want stability. as quickly as there is an imbalance someplace, we are in worry. whilst adverse activities outweigh the valuable, we sense overwhelmed and we get depressed. Or sick, or the two. despite if, sometimes, this is as much as us to truly weigh what's adverse and what's valuable with objectivity, as much as attainable. this is perplexing with the aid of fact our thoughts take the lead and we see some thing adverse which perchance is a superb, or we see that this is quite adverse whilst perchance this is somewhat adverse. i'm conversing for myself: I enable the adverse ruin each and all the valuable. sometimes, a comfortable adverse will become a super adverse for me. i be responsive to why: I had too a variety of of that. Imbalance! So it is not even the burden that counts, however the form of occurrences! that could deliver to melancholy, and extra. My convenience has constantly been my faith in God. yet even faith can fade whilst the adverse sense like a burn or a stabbing. each and every time, it takes further and extra capability to get out of the pit of negativity. Negativity is evil and does not trust our genuine nature this is to be valuable! The contradiction incredibly hurts. no you are able to take gently somebody who feels adverse: this is the 2d to develop a hand and be of help. Or to step in and alter the region. yet no longer doing something is engaging to the negativity, i.e. to evil.

Depression is the negative thought in the human mind. The more we think of depression, the more we feel down.

how could it at all be positive? Unless you've got that disorder or disease where you enjoy getting sick and even make yourself sick to get attention, it's a terrible thing. Don't ever say it is positive, your lucky enough not to have it and if you do, then you must not have it so bad, that you need to ask that.
