In India, if you are thinking of having a company name ending with the word Limited or Ltd. the then selection of words before the word Limited such as India, Corporation, Private, Trading, Shipping, Manufacturing, Mills, Industries......(list is endless)...is governed by various rules such as objects of the company, its authorised share capital etc. It is not possible to explain everything here and the Registrars of Companies making available such names have comprehensive guidelines for the purpose. The word Inc. has got no legal recognition in India. Words like Foundation etc. are normally trusts and charitable institution requiring altogether different treatment as per the applicable laws.

So, be careful while choosing a name for a real company. Mere whims may not work and may land you in trouble if you try to violate the laws. However, there are quite relaxations in case of partnerships and proprietary names.
