I left the roof open and it rained inside the car. They are completely soaked! (and the arm in the middle of the seats, etc.) I'm afraid that if I leave them to dry, it'll take too long and get moldy...

If you can't afford to take it to a detail shop, get as much of it up as you can with shammies!!!! the kind you wipe cars with or with a car wash vacuum cleaner. I agree with the house fan in the car and the windows vented, park it in the sun to accelerate evaporation. DO NOT leave the windows up until the car is completely dry or it Will mildew. Contact Fabrion.net when your done if there is any smell. They carry an odor neutralizer which will take out any left over unpleasantness. Good luck :-)

when you get home put a house fan in car and leave windows slightly open (assuming you can get power close enough to car. keep air circulating. If you have a garage even better. If not, the best thing to do is drive around with fan on and windows open whenever possible. Use hand/bath towels to soak up worst of water, (use colour close to interior colour so if fibers come ou it wont be so noticable) vacuum when it drys out completely. It will take a lot of paper towels and they tend to break up and make a mess

Try this...

a. Cover the seats with a thick sheet/blanket.
b. Use the exhaust pipe heat redirected through a rubber (not plastic) pipe inside the blanket and keep the engine ON for some time. The built up heat will evoporate the water...if you don't mind burning the fuel.

c. Well, you can also direct the car air conditioner blower with heater ON inside the blanket just like the procedure above...but it will drain the car battery...so keep running the car at a regular interval...

If you have a place that rents Rug Doctor you can get the upholstery attachements....Use them to get excess water out and if you use the cleaner itself you can clean at same time...They work great. I have had a auto upholstery shop for many yrs and I use them alot. They dont take but a couple of hours or so to dry after you extract water. Do not leave car closed up while drying though...let it air out.
