u jus have to insert the operating system's cd(e.g. windows,linux..) and go to the bios setting by pressing the "del" at the time of start up and change the setting to "boot from cd".. By default the setting will show "boot from harddisk".. then save the settings and restart ur comp wit the cd inside itself.. then it'll ask to create partitions.. jus create 1 partition and click install... it'll now format first and then only install.. u can take out the cd when u've formatted it or otherwise continue installing the new OS..

you may no longer format lively partiticion the place WindowsXP has been put in-it is going to erase your finished disc..instead locate a XP and ME deploy discs and enter in the past setting up them in BIOS than exchange the boot order to your Cd-ROM or DVD than positioned the XP disc in it and restart. After some archives are put in you would be asked for a partiticion to place in the working device(OS).there'll be one out of your modern-day OS-press D to delete it and than L to confirm. Then press C to create New partiticion and choose the 0.5 of the accessible complicated rigidity area.Create yet another partiticion for The ME OS on the loose area that left than initiate setting up the XP .After ending reboot and positioned the ME disc interior the rigidity and deploy it as properly---Now you have a twin OS workstation on One complicated disc.desire it facilitates.

talking to ask_sammy:
not all bios open with the del key. if that doesn't work, try the f keys at the top (F1-F8)
I have to use F4 to open my bios, not sure about yours. (question asker)
