My understanding is that, due to the huge amount of food and beer consumed on a daily baisis by the aspiring Sumo wrestler in order to gain weight, there is a severe degradation in the wrestler's health, leading to a very premature death.

Sumo wrestlers have a life expectancy of between 60 and 65, more than 10 years less than the average Japanese male. They often develop diabetes and high blood pressure, and are prone to heart attacks. The excessive intake of alcohol leads to liver problems and the stress on their joints causes arthritis. Recently, the standards of weight gain are becoming less strict, in order to try to increase the health of the rikishi.

I don't know but its a grreat way to go.

If I am like 80 years old on my death bed, first order up some ho's to see if that finishs me off with my weak heart.
If that doesn't work then start calling every food joint in town and pig out like there is no tomorrow.
