overdrive off, a button still works to change the rpm of engine but it still feels like it takes to long to shift. could this be a simple problem or one that needs a pro to look at it.

There's not enough info to tell ya, bud. Have you pushed the overdrive button to cut off the overdrive? What kind of truck? Does it return to normal if you push the button?

A little more info would go a long way. In the absence of info, take it to a mechanic.

Could be low on fluid. Most of the new OD tranny's are poorly designed. They are just weak. Have you been towing? Could have problems with the OD or the computer control system. Good luck.

Is it a Ford? Possible blown valve body gasket or internal transmission problem. If you could update your question with a little more information, I could better answer it. Sorry.
