If you go into it knowing that it is just a rebound relationship. Being that they don't usually work out for long term. They will usually help the pain of a broken heart, and can be lots of fun. Make sure your rebound person understands that you are not looking for a relationship though. Hurting someone else to get over your own pain is definitely not cool.

Not a good way to cure a broken heart but a good way to pass the time while you heal. (And feel like you are somehow getting back at the jerk!)

Usually, yes. Because you aren't over your last relationship, so the poor rebound guy gets used in a way

I think it is a way to make yourself feel better and feel wanted. You feel rejected or hurt that the last relationship didn't work out and someone new paying you attention is a distraction and it helps the self-esteem. Of course, this isn't the time to get into anything serious. One needs time to get over the last relationship and be happy with themselves before they get into a new one.

i think it is;; i went thru that once && i still regret it;; in the end, it doesn't help, just causes more of a dilemma. the only thing that really cures a broken heart is time. && yes, cryin does actually help, even if u feel real low. cryin lets all the frustration out.

I don't think so. The help heal and make the time go by faster. Just make sure the parties involved know it is not a long term relationship you are interested in so no one gets hurt.
Good Luck!

Time is the best cure.

But a new mate can help make that time go by quicker.

Yes; although they sort of help to keep your mind off the last person, it's not fair to them because you're not really interested in a relationship. Find other things to keep you busy, like spend time with your friends or organize your room.
