Rather than taking an online course, go to an actual training program or find a job that will train you on the job. As someone mentioned home health aide or nurse's aide, either will train you and have you working in just a few weeks.
Some nursing homes will train on the job and after six months you can go anywhere and work as a nurse's aide - which is a decent paying job that doesn't take a long time to accomplish.

CNA, Certified Nursing Assistant
Medical Billing
Or, start a course in something like Paralegal, which takes about 2 years, but you can work in the field after the first few classes are done while you are completing your education in it.
Good luck!

You can take classes to become a paralegal or office assistant. But you cannot take EMT classes online and know what you are doing. I took EMT classes and its very hands on and you need lots of practice and one on one instructor time that goes for the nurses aid to. I was a CNA for 5 years and i had to go through a hands on class for 2 weeks and pass a written test and a preformance test before the hospital would let me near patients.

If you can find an on-line degree that you like, it will take more than 6 months to finish up. It's just like going to the class, but you do it on-line. Usually takes 2 years for an associates degree.
