I've been pretty lucky; I don't have much to say here. I suppose having an 18-wheeler total my two-seat sports car (with me in it) was the closest I came to serious injury. But it was a lot less serious than it sounded. (ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT!)

I was also supposed to schedule an appointment at 7 World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The plans fell through - I was not in NYC that day, thank God. Obviously the truck story was more dangerous to me personally.

But have any of you come close to death? What did you learn from it that you would like to share? Thanks.

No, not bragging - I'm sorry it sounds like that. I was asking a sincere question.

We are all within one (1) heartbeat or one (1) breath away from death. We should all thank God for each heartbeat and breath we take because the next one could be our last.

The closest I came to death was when having surgery and was to far under anesthesia. My heart stopped and they used the good old electric paddles. Wow hard to breath after those things. That is the reason I have such a faith in the Lord. I know what comes after life. When you know it is different than believing. I learned that there is a higher power, before that I was just dilly dallying around. I was a Christian then, but I was like everyone else with my questions. I lost my questions real quick and started reading the Bible to learn what Jesus, and the Holy Spirit was all about. I lost my religionist spirit. I learned to ask for the right things. I learned that this life is only a temporary thing. There is no permanency in this world. This all happened in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in a place called the Green Cross Hospital. I am here to attest that yes there is a God, there is a Jesus, and there is a Holy Spirit.

Many years back while serving at high altitude, on first day of my arrival,in the night, an Avalanche struck any room I was staying
was gone and vanished. I was buried under snow and debries
and luckily one wooden plank covered me from head to feet
though it kept me pressed causing lot of discomfort and pain and
i was unable to move. I shouted for help but who would listen
when wind was roaring outside and extremely cold at 03 AM.
Gradually my breathing became difficult. I prayed and prayed
and tried my best to remain calm. In the morning at 07 AM i.e.
after 3 hours, when other persons came out of their rooms/
barracks and were talking near my place, I again shouted and was
heard by them. Immediately all of them gathered to rescue me
and you would not believe that I did not get even a scratch. At one
stage I thought that if nobody had noticed for one hour more,
probably I would not have survived. But God is great.
I can only say that under such situations, one should remain calm and have faith in himself and God Do your best and Pray
to God for help and giving you courage. It is a true incident.

while i cant remember it, the closest i came to death was when, at the age of 3, i tripped, hit the fireplace in my house, and put a hole the size of my moms finger in my head, down to the skull.
