I would just plan on being there as a friend to support her after the breakup. When it seems she is starting to move on then I would make your move. Exactly how long that is would depend on how long she was with her boyfriend and how hard she fell for him. If we are talking about a relationship that only last about a month or less, I would wait like a week to ask. For a longer relationship I would wait longer, possibly a few months, if we are talking about a longer term more serious relationship.

Well that really depends. How well did you know her boyfriend.
Ask to soon and she will get suspicious, ask to late and you miss the rebound. I'd wait until she's solidly over the pining phase of a break up to ask. Helping her out in her time of need will also put you in her good graces.

Give it a week at least. More if they were going out a long time. In fact, you could call at a week, and let her know you want to go out, but that you don't want to rush her. This is a nice way of getting your foot in the door, appearing to be a sensitive guy ANd asking her out all at the same time.

If the boyfriend isn't your good friend, wait over one weekend and ask her out on Monday. If he is, you should wait for HIM to get over it.
And for gosh sakes, take her on the first date somewhere where he isn't likely to see you. If you're in a big city, take her to dinner and a movie across town. If you're in a small town, do the same thing in the "next town."

no, don't catch her on the rebound cuz she may just wanna use you to get back at her b/f and not take you seriously and move on to the next guy. i'm kinda in ur situation rite now. i'd wait a few weeks to let her get over her last relationship before she starts thinkin of another

depends on how she is after the breakup
maybe tell her you would like to take her out
but be hands off at first
the deal here is that you do not want to end up being the rebound
just take it slow with her
