Do our government elected officials really have our issues in mind, do they really wanna help our economy or just help their own economy? Can a couple each making minimum wage live a decent life? What if the girl becomes pregnant, will they be able to live a decent life now that one salary has been cut? All the things that one wants to have have a monthly charge and some have interest that adds up, but who gains from these monthly charges? When an issue is addressed, do they look at the impact of the economic decline of the working class and fix it, or do they look at how it affects corporations and the rich? If a problem affects corporations and the rich, is the issue resolved faster or is the issue resolved faster if it affects the working class?

Nuke Lefties - Thanks for calling me a socialist and telling me to go to china, of course I do live in a democratic nation if I do recall, and I am granted freedoms, well maybe you just don't like someone telling you their side of the story. You are a one way road with no stops or rests, to each his own, thanks for the answer.

Our government is the best money can buy - if anyone thinks that money doesn't matter, then they are kidding themselves. The lobbyist are the ones holding the "purse strings", and they are careful to work "with" them to make sure they're happy. If they aren't, the dollars go elsewhere, which could cost them their job.
It's very simple - the cost of living is too high for anyone to survive on minimum wage the way it is. I know that it would be a hardship for some companies, but with the cost of living increases, and the min. wage hasn't gone up isn't fair. Of course those people have to rely on public assistance to make it. I'm not condoning welfare, but sometimes it is a necessary evil. But people should be encouraged to work their way off of welfare.
I think they need to listen to the more popular working class as opposed to the upper class. But money speaks volumes, and the more you have, the louder you talk, and the more they listen. Want to change that?? Get involved with your local government, educate yourself on the issues, and make them listen to you and those you represent. Call a congressman. Write letters. Make them know you are there, and that your vote does count.

Not everyone working for a corporation is rich. Big companies employ a lot of people, most making a lot more than minimum wage. Certainly there are the million $ CEOs/Presidents/Owners, they aren't in those positions by mistake. Every company is in business to make money. Big Co. often make a lot of money, pay a lot of taxes, employ a lot of people, pay them a decent wage/benefits/insurance, give money to charities, etc. When big companies have layoffs, move/close a location, thousands of people could be out of work. The government tries to avoid these types of extremes, by helping out in various ways.
We all rely on businesses, big-medium-small, but the businesses that can afford to pay higher salaries and taxes, employ thousands of people, create jobs across the country, also deserve a break or help when they need it. Don't blame the rich, because you make minimum wage. Figure out how to get a higher paying job. Cut back on some luxuries, monthly charges. Fed & State Government shouldn't punish businesses to the point they want to move out of state/country. Not to mention, politicians(dems & repubs) solicite some or most of the campaign money from big corporations. Point being, if the governments don't help out the rich, it only makes it more difficult to help out those who are struggling to get ahead.

Nice socialist speech! Move to China. It's not the governments job to take care of you. If you're only making minimum wage, I'm sorry but get an education and you'll make more then minimum wage. If you're willing to work hard anything is possible.

Pretty much every government in history has looked out for themselves and the rich first.I don't know your definition of a "decent life"Women, as we all know just don't "become" pregnant, If you know that you can't financially care for children, buy a Trojan,or what ever birth control method you like, and use it!! If you don't have the money for it,save' till you do, dint make the credit card companies rich off of your misfortunes.Above all ,never look to government as savior, look within, for that's where the answer lies.(i told my daughter stuff like this since was about 10 and she turned out fine).(except the Trojan part , that came later).

My significant difficulty with it truly is that i'm a unmarried mom who went decrease back to artwork and figured issues out herself- so why won't be able to different human beings do a similar? And in case you may not help your self- what interior the international makes you imagine that it truly is a sturdy theory to have yet another newborn? (i'm declaring this mainly- no longer to you) at the same time i'm no longer some newborn that were given pregnant, i'm a grown female who's a school graduate and has the flexibility to get a job which will pay properly. i do no longer options helping human beings out in order that that they can get on their ft. I do only no longer favor to be taken earnings of ( i comprehend those who do abuse the gadget). helping is one aspect- yet you should favor to stay the american dream and really, residing on welfare is a especially unhappy existance if it is all you've going for you. Please go decrease back to school (in case you want to) and verify out to make it on your own. it truly is so a lot more effective worthwhile, and also you'll have a lot more effective to illustrate for it. in case you legitimately want help- you should get it. there is not any shame in that. however, there is shame on abusing the generosity of others. sturdy success!

The government always put themselves in front of its people. THIEIR best interests come first, not ours.
For example, I never agreed to my biweekly tax deduction to be spent on constructions on roads that I deem unncessary, or to support street bums who doesn't even want to get a job, or even, used on military spending in case we go to war. I think I should have a say on where my money goes, but do I?

Repuglicans have this theory that if you give to the rich that it will trickle down to the poor, how is it working for you. Not to good I bet. Best thing to do is vote for democrats as they seem to help the poor and middle class people more then the repuglicans.

they have more impact because they have a louder voice. you may not have the financial clout, but you can be heard if you organize, petition, run for office, but nothing will happen if you do nothing. if you make minimum wage, work harder, work your way up, educate yourself further, look into assistance programs, or do nothing and nothing will happen. if you don't like credit card fees, don't sign contracts with credit card companies, and don't spend what you don't earn on what you "want". you can basically depend on the govt. to keep you safe and alive, but don't expect them to be watching out, or looking for ways to make your life easier. you have to WORK for that.
