I think the prediction (dream) went something like, the third world war would begin in the East, between the Lion and the Eagle. As with all of the predictions by Nostradamus, there are many ways to interpret them. He also said that the third anti Christ would come from the East, The 1st being Napoleon Bonaparte, 2nd Hitler and the third yet to be determined. Many thought it would be Saddam but not as yet.

Choosing religion as the culprit for a war is hedging your bets as that has been the cause of wars all over the world for millenia, and would seem a safe bet for the next. Though can you call democracy a religion? or oil a religion? if so that could be a good bet for the cause of the next war!!!

Actually, Nostradamus wrote in such a wierd and ambiguous style that his prophecies could mean anything. I wouldn't put too much stock in the writings of a 16th-century soothsayer. If Nostradamus' "prophecies" seem valid, its because people have tried to make events match up with his incredibly vague writings.

As for the war between Israel and Lebanon, it's not really about religion. Deep down, its a basic struggle for access to land and natural resources. If you listen to the rhetoric that comes from each side, there is little mention of religion. Grievances tend to be political or military in nature. Maybe the two religions find each other distasteful, but I don't believe that is why they are at war.

He did predict it but maybe it has already started with the whole terrorism thing. I would consider that a religion even though it is screwed up. He predicted that the war would last 27 years and there would be world chaos and many casualties but after the 27 years we would have 100 years of peace.

1981: Israel bombed the Osirak nuclear ability facility in Iraq. No international conflict 3. 2007: Israel bombed the Syrian nuclear ability plant nonetheless decrease than shape. nonetheless no international conflict 3. If the Israelis bomb the Iranian nuclear ability plant there nonetheless heavily isn't a international conflict 3. There could be multiple political screaming interior the region, yet many countries interior the middle East do no longer prefer to work out Iran with a nuclear weapons application the two. rather Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Jordan have expressed subject over Iran's intentions and does no longer whinge overly lots could an attack take place.

Let's get this right. Nostradamas never claimed that his quatrians predicted the future. He would have been strung up if he did.
We are the ones that say his works predict future events.
Lebanon and Israel?
Most wars are about religion, or are fought on religious grounds. Israel is constantly in turmoil with most of the middle east because they are Jewish and most of the others are Muslims. Palestinians believe that Israel and it's Jews should be pushed into the sea. They believe that Israel is theirs, and that they will get in the future. Israel is the most powerful military force in the middle east so they are unlikely to let that happen.
It's an argument that is not worth getting into because neither of them will ever reach common ground. It's against their beliefs.

The Israelis do something like this about every twenty years for one reason or another. This will end shortly, Hezbollah will be quiet for a while and then it will start up again. I don't think that this is the beginning of the third world war.

Or Christianity versus Islam, or Hindus v Sikhs. Who knows, nostradamus wasn't always right, if you want to know how the world is going to end, get the message from the guy who created it in the first place, and read Revelations, the final chapter of the Bible's New Testatment. It is really specific, and it is clearly going to happen due to the rejection of Christ himself, in which case, Nostradamus would be correct, in that Armageddon will happen due to religion. Read it and make your own mind up, its quite impressive reading even if you only read it as a story, rather than gospel.

When Nostrodamus was writing there were no states called Israel and Lebanon.
His so called predictions are so vague that nobody in the modern era has ever used them for any practible purpose.
It's only after an event has happened that people try to connect them.

Most of the wars in history have been because of religion. The war between Israel/Lebanon won't necessarily be the start of third world war, if there ever will be one.

It is possible. You can read the book of revelation and it talks about the third world war. It will be fought in the valley of Armageddon which is near modern day Israel and Lebanon.
