Well the best way to answer the question you do not want to answer is by saying " why do you want to know". While you say so smile. If this is a situation on internet you can just ignore the question you feel is rude.

Do things that are worthwhile or add value to your life. When people are rude or ask abusive or intrusive questions, then ask yourself if its worth your time or if there is any value in responding. If not, don't.
If someone asks a question with sarcasm, you can answer back with sarcasm, but really, if a pig squalors in mud and you don't like it, then why jump into the mud with the pig?

You must realize that many people are not capable of answering a question in a meaningful way. These people need to answer questions with nonsense or rude answers, in order to aquire points so they can ask meaningless questions such as "Who discovered the computer?" or "How do I download more RAM for my PC?".

Maybe they don't feel like it was enough information to give you a answer. The ones who are very rude are going against the policies listed by yahoo.

Suppose you ask me, "Do you like girls?" And I reply, "Is the Pope Catholic?"
Is that an answer?
As for rudeness, I've had my share in my in-box, just because they disagree, not for anything personal in my answer.
Ignore it.
Everyday someone emerges from a rock, somewhere.

Just ignore them. People do according to their understanding. And their understanding is very limited.
