Depending on where you live, there are state and local entities that handle housing issues as well as the local health department. I would contact the corporate office of the company your landlord works for, speak with the top official and let them know you will not be evicted for health code violations. Threaten to expose them to the housing authorities and or local news media. There are also attorneys who specialize in tenant protection against landlords doing this . But also to consider, do you want to live somewhere that has a problem with raw sewage? Your health is more important than a rental unit. If the sewage is in your unit , BTW your landlord has the responsibility to pay or reimburse your expenses for other arrangements (like a hotel/motel-or at least contribute to the nightly charge) while your unit is cleaned according to health code standards. Hope this helps.

Get a lawyer right away. Retaliatory eviction is often against the law, and it is likely the landlord is in breach of the lease, too. While you probably will not want to remain in his property, you may be able to sue for the cost of looking for a new place and for any reasonable increase in rent you have to pay when you find a new place. Contact your local bar association if you need to be referred to a lawyer, but talk to one today.

You should take your lease to a lawyer. Without seeing the entire lease and knowing all the details, there is no way anyone on here can give you any better advice.

Lawyers will be most anxious to take that case.
You may get a few months free rent.
