I use to ,atleast as i grew up i did , all those freedom's I had , that our fore father's had died for would all be mine.
I soon learned all this freedom was at a price everyone must still pay today.
TAX on my land , on my work ,AND on the good's I buy ,licencing fee's , registration form's ,public document's fee's , permit's fee's well just about everything i do has a price attached .
TODAY if you know the right people you can take even my land from me .IT is happening around america every day . LAND owned by private people taken for the "good" of the community.
WHAT happened to "freedom "the right's of the people to be secure in there home's and property.
MY land can be turned into a shopping mall , condo's or anything the state feels it can make more money off of .
THAT'S right they take my land and collect even more taxes and fee's from permit's and fee's the developer's pay and do not forget the insurance and bond's .
PLUS the new job's and the tax they will collect on thier pay

IT seems we have been going backward's for some time and this need's to change in america if we are going to last much longer .THE right's of the people are no longer the most important thing in america .
IT has become the right's of the state and it's need's so when does that off ramp or school or just the general improvement of the tax base of the community trample my right's.
WE have lost most of our freedom's and do not even notice any more . tobusy working for the government to care .the only good job's anymore or working for the state .I would like walmart to be able to provide the driver's examine's for $6.00 an hour we would save close to 1.5 billion a year in salaries 1 billion in pensions and 3 billion in health care.
SO why not do that .well the government loses 1000 voters in each state that had all these benefits .WALmart needs shoppers ,and they need car's so it make sense that walmart bear the burden of licensing driver's.

Your question is a very very important one, one that deserves more than a knee-jerk response.

First, who I am. I grew up in a poor household. All the men in a long line of my family served in the military. All of them worked. We trace our family back to before the American Revolution when Ludvig von Fischer and his son Johannes von Fischer came over from Bavaria to Virginia. Johannes fought for the Colonists. My grandfather fought in WW I. My dad and step father and uncles in WW II. All were wounded. I fought in Vietnam.

I am in strong disagreement with the present policies of the United States government. I am against the military occupation in Iraq. I am against eminent domain being used to take private property for corporate gain. I am for all of the amendments of the Constitution including the right to own firearms. I am a Progressive, a Liberal. I see corporations buying and selling America. Dubai owns Grand Central Station in NYC (check it out). Foreign interests now own many of our roads. We are selling ourselves into slavery to afford this war. 45 million Americans do not have something simple like health insurance. We cannot see that stem cell research may lead away from horrible diseases that took even conservatives like Ronald Reagan.

Yet we are distracted by flag burning amendments and worry about whether or not Gay people should be denied the right to marry. Please!!! Makes as much difference as who wins American Idol.

Yet, whenever I think about leaving, I realize that I love the folks here. And I love more that that abstract thing called the government. Americans are big hearted and sometimes a bit fumble-footed, shortsighted, but d@mned it all, we are a melting pot of some wonderful folks. We try. And only 37% happen to even like who is in charge right now. If we can get folks off their fundaments (look that word up), we can change America - peacefully - for the better. I sure hope we can. I do worry about the voting machines. I am going to give 2006 and 2008 a chance before I say I can no longer live here.

And if you find Utopia elsewhere, remember what that title meant: utopia (does not exist). Got to make your own heaven where you are, I guess.

First, pay a visit to Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, N. Korea and other countries and then come home and kiss the ground. Thank God that you live here.
Second, the reason that your land can be taken away is due to a decision made by the Supreme Court, by Liberals on the Court. Presidents appoint Supreme Court Justices. If we had only Conservative Presidents over the past forty years the Court would have been more Conservative and that ruling would have never happened.

I always have and I always will!

I might not agree with our current Government and it's policies but that is why I Love America...I have the right to feel the way I want to feel about my Government.

Once the Conservatives are out of power, things will begin to get better soon after.

I will love this country to the very end and I am sure it will go on long after I have passed. Sure this country has made it’s share of mistakes, but this country has also done more good for its citizens and the people of the world than the rest of the world combined! Try traveling abroad for a month to any other country and you will see what I mean. My wife and I have been to Peru, Mexico, South Africa, most of Europe, Japan, and Canada.

We finance 90% of the worlds stem cell research. (current issue – most Americans are misled about this subject)
We supply nearly 85% of the worlds foreign aid (i.e. food, medicine) to Africa

If you are getting discouraged about taxes, vote Republican, time after time, they cut back on taxes or even eliminate some foolish ones. Right now, they are trying to change the “eminent domain” law to severely restrict govt. right to take property.

Even though our current President has gotten away from it, most Repubs believe in smaller government and more rights for the people. This is they way our forefathers had planned for our country to be run. The Dems are by and large Socialists who believe that people cannot make decisions for themselves. Their social programs are also the reasons on why we have so many extra taxes. That revenue is needed to fund the handouts that everyone is receiving. While I agree taxes are necessary to operate most of our government, who else more than yourself knows how to spend the money you work so hard for? Nobody should be able to tell us how to spend our money.

Don’t give up on your country because it hasn’t given up on you.

Of all the issues that you take offense to, it's taxation and emminent domain? America has the lowest tax rate of any industrialized nation!! And if you're that concerned about encroaching cities, move AWAY from them! Not that difficult of a concept. All that just makes you is a lazy complainer. Get proactive dude! Don't just b*tch on Yahoo!

Yes, I love her to death with all my heart. I overlook her shortcomings. I encourage her when she's down, and I love to share in her happiness when she has a good day. I always remember her anniversaries and I try to bring her flowers, when I think that will cheer her up. I tuck her kids into bed and say prayers with them, for them, all of them, each and every night. America is my whole life.

But we decided to separate until she gets over her love affair with this simple-minded Texan. I'm sure she'll come back, and I'll forgive her, as always. And maybe she'll love me again then, too.

yes
if you don't love it leave it.

There is ALWAYS the right to have a voice. It's called voting and the fact is a lot of people whine and complain but a minority of people actually VOTE. If everyone VOTED and got the greed out of government things would change. I don't like everything our government does and I disagree a lot with government officials. But I don't have to die for doing so.
if there was as much interest in voting for officials as American Idol things have a chance to change and the PEOPLE again could make decisions. Less than 50% of those who can vote do. Many countries wish they had a chance and line up to vote at the risk of being killed for standing in line...and we take it for granted.

With all of the corrupt officials, politicians, law enforcement, judges, and financial corporations that run this country----it is no longer a country of the people, by the people, and for the people--it is still the best game in town.

Why would you think so many are trying to get here? While one person is enslaved, no one is truly free. We are the richest country in the world, although we are also the most sinful country in the world.

The United States is like a beautiful painting. Without the darks and shadows, the painting would have no depth, no perspective, and no interest. We all must take the good with the bad, otherwise, we would have nothing.

Please, God, even in our sinful state, Bless Us!

Yes, I still love America.

Freedom is a word that has been abused in this country.

Freedom was never meant to be the ability for one to do anything he wants to do. Should a person be free to harm another person? Should you be free to steal or murder?

Many have fought and died for our freedoms, however most of them would not be so happy to see that many today use that freedom to burn the flag they died under. They would not want to see how many have been murdered because of a twisted right to choose.

How can we say a person has the right to choose when that right takes away the right of another to choose life.

Freedom should be the right to the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness, but not at the expense of others and morality.

God help us all. I love the USA that was meant to be.
