I have never liked Put In Bay. It's really crowded, and the drunk people seem to be more obnoxious there than other places.

My family used to go there for one day trips. I have never been that much of a fan of it (from a kid's perspective). Now as an adult, I think that it could be a romantic trip. One nice thing about the island is the winery. There is also a geo at one of the wineries. There is a lot of scenery. You want to bring your own bike or borrow one of the golf carts. The town is far from the boat station, so you don't want to walk. The resturants are nice. One draw back is that the island is very busy during the summer, it is not necessarily the best place to get away from it all. Unless you are walking around the woods, you will be around people your whole trip. Best bet is to try to go in the middle of the week. Also, avoid Labor day, Memorial day, 4th of July. Have fun.

I don't know - I am an Ohio native who moved to FL. I can stay in Key West cheaper than Put-in-Bay, and the cops in Put-in-Bay (I've heard) are really hardnose about drinking, etc.
I've heard many people say that PIB is not what it used to be....
